I’m writing this on the train from Sheffield to London, which seems a fitting manner in which to start a blog about travel.

One of my aims for 2017 is to write for myself more, rather than just for work. The easiest way to do that is creating my own blog – so, here it is.

I’ll be aiming to post regular articles about the things I’m interested in: travel, mostly. As someone who works in the travel industry, I’ll be commenting on developments and wider issues alongside writing about my trips.

Some other topics I might be covering include conservation, responsible travel, running, trekking and literature. I will also use this platform to write about moving from London to Cape Town, which I’m doing at the end of January, but don’t worry – I’m not going to be using this as an open diary or posting any personal deep-and-meaningfuls. There will be opinions, but these are mine and not those of my employer/s (I’ll get that disclaimer in early).
